Improving health through better sleep
Improving health through better sleep
Update: We Have Reopened Our Diagnostic Services (Overnight Sleep Studies)!
MedSleep is committed to serving your health care needs. Your safety is our highest priority and we are committed to giving you and our staff a safe place to receive/give care.
These are the measures MedSleep has taken to keep you safe during your visit to our clinic:
Additional Patient Screening
Patients are being screened a minimum of 3 times before they can enter any of our clinics for an overnight study.
Additional Staff Screening
Staff are required to complete a screening before they arrive at their shift. They will be permitted to enter clinic premises only if they pass the screening process.
Staff and Patient Temperature
As part of our screening process, we are taking body temperatures for all staff prior to their shift, and all patients prior to entering the premises.
Enhanced Cleaning
We’ve upped our cleaning standards in response to the virus. As a public health facility, our cleaning standards were already higher than most public places, as we are required to follow Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Guidelines for cleanliness.
Full PPE for Staff
Expect to see our frontline staff in full PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). This includes a face mask, face shield, gloves, and isolation gown.
PPE for Patients
All patients and any essential visitors are being asked to wear a mask or cloth face covering while in our clinics. You may bring your own, or if you don’t have one, face masks are available at our clinics. Hand sanitizer is available at each entrance and at numerous locations throughout the clinics. Everyone is asked to sanitize their hands upon entering the clinic and during your stay. It is important to sanitize your hands after every encounter with another person.
Reorganization of Patient Flow
We have reduced our patient flow and reorganized the way patients are cared for through their stay in an attempt to minimize contact with one another. Each patient will have a designated private room. The goal is to prevent a patient from coming in contact with any other patient at the facility. Our floors have social distancing markings to encourage safe distances, even with staff. Our waiting room area is closed and is off-limits to patients and staff.
Additional Safety
Our clinics are no longer allowing non-essential visitors. We also remain closed for in-person daytime appointments in an effort to reduce patient traffic in and out of the clinic. Virtual appointments to see your doctor continue every day.

Philips is recommending that customers and patients halt use of ozone-related cleaning products, and adhere to their device Instructions for Use for approved cleaning methods.

What action is MedSleep taking?
Patient safety is of utmost importance to us. We have asked all of the CPAP Vendors who provide services to our patients to register their devices for replacement, in addition to contacting patients on Philips equipment.
Additional Information:
For additional information, we strongly encourage you to read the following recommendations from the American Thoracic Society: Recommendations for Sleep and Critical Care Medicine Professionals Re: Philips Recall Notice.
In the event that you wish to make an appointment to discuss this matter with your prescribing physician, please contact our office and an appointment will be made for you on a best effort basis. There is a significant demand for these appointments and we will schedule yours as quickly as we can.
Consider contacting your insurance provider to determine if you are eligible for a new device. Typically, insurance will cover a new device after 5 years of use, but you may be eligible sooner.
